Welcome to the Galánta Events blog, where we will be covering all sorts of tips and ideas to help you run your own successful personal events, all the latest news and topics on public events we are involved in, and many other interesting stories.

Our story so far is goes like this …..

Oonagh and I (Carmel) became friends when our youngest boys started in play school. Being stay at home mothers was important to both of us but as the children got older we wanted to do more for ourselves and create something together.

Oonagh had many years experience in the event industry working at Wembley Stadium in London and I came from a creative background. We spent many months doing market research, updating our skills and thrashing many ideas around (like names) and from all that Galánta Events was born.

Over the years we have assisted in the planning and orgainsing of all types of events. These have included the Waterford Writers’ Weekend 2012 and 2013, Fashion’s Day Out, many fundraising events and corporate weekends, meetings and trade shows. Each event is completely different and provides us with different challenges, but it’s on these experiences that we thrive.

Some of our major clients to date are the Waterford City Library Services in the Waterford City Council, South East Simon Community, Beat 102 103, Blacksmiths Stoves and H-Tec Industries.

In June 2012 we were so excited to win the Best in New Business/Enterprise Award at the FAB Waterford Women in Business Awards in the Tower Hotel on the 20th June 2012.

In December 2012 I was presented with an award for the Networker of the Year at the Waterford Micro Business Network. A great finale to what was a fantastic award winning and exciting year for Galanta events.

I know. It’s a constant learning curve. The widgets are related to your theme, so it depends on whether your theme has that option. In the meantime, it looks like you’ve got hte hang of some of them already.
